Contretemps \KAHN-truh-tahn\, noun
An inopportune
or embarrassing situation
or event; a hitch...
was Dictionary.com’s
word for the day.
Couldn't put my
predicament more aptly.

CONTRary to the TEMPtationS
inherent in the “apt” word,
is dictionary.com’s
word for today:
Concatenation \kon-kat-uh-NAY-shuhn; kuhn-\, noun:
A series of links united;
a series or order of things
depending on each other,
as if linked together;
a chain, a succession

Adding for good measure
an “apter” instance
of possible usage:
She invested
a variety of significances
in the word "there,"
a concatenation
of linked associations
with space, time, and place.
